This was amazingly helpful! It was my first time making popcorn and since mom usually makes it i decided to try myself :> definitely subscribing
If you were truly hungry, and had very little meat for an extended time, the liver would taste good to you.
Watching you eat liver was torturous and cringy. What a baby, grow up. You pampered Americans forgot how food is supposed to taste without sugar and additives.
So the question is how much do you discard each time?
Beautifully explained
Literally perfect popcorn thank you so much for this video
During the 1960s the poor people got goverment free rations of navy beans blocks of cheese oate and butter. We ate a lot of oats beans and potatoes.
During the 1960s a popular dish for supper was tomato sause with pieces of bread cooked in the sause.e
I lived during the early 1950s.What we ate daily for breakfast was oats will butter, sugar and minot canned milk or cream and toast with butter. We ate lunch meat sandwiches or canned soup for dinner. For supper all the vegetables were from a can.
Just in time; I was going to make hard cooked egg for salads and this will be a great method to try! Thanks!
I made this plain, with no fruit or nuts because I don't have any on hand 😥. It turned out so soft, moist and tender. Didn't last long with Company over 🤣 Next time I make this I am adding blueberries and some lemon zest and probably some pecans because like you, those are my favorite! I did add about another half teaspoon of cinnamon in the brown sugar filling - we are addicted to a strong cinnamon flavor over here. Great recipe and I can't wait to scroll through your other videos!
I come here for find a proper way to cut fruit but find a beauty and way to eat grapefruit 😀both
You must not make wartime food videos if you are not mentally ready for that kind of food. Gagging? ... Holding your nose? ... REALLY? Do you know MILLIONS of Americans ate that for years and were grateful for having it? Leave aside your spoiled child manners for a while or make only videos about ice cream , Twinkies and Happy Meals. I suggest you fast 3 or 4 days before cooking these, maybe that will put you in the mood. Not kidding.
Macadamia nut oil! Get a gas stove.
They are like 4$ here in Canada!
By the way, I highly approve of your cultured vocabulary. It adds flavor to the video like cultured butter to popcorn!
You are gorgeous, and the tortillas looked awesome. Thanks for the recipe.
I guess my microbiome is different. I love popcorn with just healthy oil and a touch of salt, not too much. I like to add different flavors like parsley and garlic or paprika, and just discovered maple syrup popcorn with ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Nice
I just do mine in the microwave, and they don't explode, I heat the water first, add eggs, and use paper towel on the top and they only take 8 minutes, less if you want soft eggs. But this was interesting to watch for a different method.
Worth a try!
Thank You
I think cooking prunes is stewed prunes then drink the prune juice but make sure you are near a toilet. Trust me.
i love your kitchen. so lovely and bright
I stand beseeched 🤩
First time someone has mentioned 1:1:1 ratio! What an epiphany!
You trying to eat the liver made me chuckle. One of my favourite foods is liver casserole with lingonberry jam!
My great grandmother lived during the wars, and I remember how she always did everything by hand (jams, juices, canned goods, etc) she never let ANYTHING go to waste. When she was 80, she still used the same pajamas she got when she was 17... (she had newer ones, but she wouldn't wear the new ones until the old ones were fully broken. They were full of mended holes) She taught my mom (who then taught me) how to make everything by hand, how to mend clothes, what mushrooms to pick from the forest, how to care for the garden, how to save money etc. (Her daughter, so my grandma, was and still is too lazy to do anything by herself, and has always opted out for store-made foods and preserves. So glad my great grandma basically raised my mom, and taught her so much) I loved her so much, it's been already nearly 8 years without her. I miss her every day, she was a legend.
Yeah that's not plain and simple and you don't have to throw your discard away you can cook with it
Skippy Super Chunk Peanut Butter is the best in the World 😋 yes I know this is the wrong video but Erica understands! She's probably a huge fan of the Skippy Super Chunk! Don't Deny It Erica (you know it's true) 🥰🥰🥰
Been a Jif fan all my life. 😋
Well... That is genius lol
thanks 😊
Thank goodness... I forgot to buy a replacement microwave today, its too late now, everythings closed and mine broke.
My grandmother raised me she was born in 1935…extremely poor this was normal food especially the cheap cuts like liver, I was raised in poverty and the food my grandmother was raised on was everything I HAD to eat, I was thankful I had a meal, we butchered our animals like pigs beef chickens etc, ALL PARTS WERE EATEN even in 1986 when I was born, beef and pork head were used for head cheese or jowl bacon, pig ear sandwiches, pigs feet, and keep in mind the way the worlds going now these foods might be coming back to the table, I’m fine with it
I like the lunch meal too and the supper dessert
Hell yeah brother thanks for showing me the way
Fine. Let's do a chicago stuffed deep dish. 600 gr separated 400/200gr dough balls.
Damn Darlin, you are fine.
Best that I have seen!
Informative, thanks!
Thank you for being so detailed and thorough
good luck growing your channel!
Most vintage menus feel like I would be needing much more animal protein. I likely would have needed to eat a LOT of eggs if I lived back then.
Margarine never was as bad as you remember. Your mom probably kept it a long time, maybe uncovered, maybe next to half an onion. LOL
😂
Super clear explanation..Thank you 😊
Great explanation. Thank you
My favorite drinks are chai latte and pumpkin spice latte. I can’t wait to make them. Yes, I just bought my espresso and been making drinks. I love them. But wow I thought I couldn’t tell the difference because how good the coffee is, but I just came back from universal and couldn’t believe the difference. Those expensive machines are really on another level. Makes me appreciate my coffee more.
For those who are allergic to peanuts, subbing almonds would I'm sure be fine. In particular, Maranatha makes a caramel almond butter which I think would be DELICIOUS in the banana dessert. And thank you, because you brought back a lost memory...my mother made that creamed turkey on English muffins dinner. I had totally forgotten. I did like it, and I'm sure I still would!
Good job
Simple math 😊
My dough came out too wet. Should I add more flour?😅
It depends on why it’s wet! If your flour lacks sufficient gluten, adding more flour will help to make the dough drier, but it won’t be exactly the right texture. If your dough was wet because the butter or other ingredients were too warm, placing the dough in the fridge should firm it up. If your dough started out fine, but became wet after fermentation, it means it was over fermented and the gluten broke down too much. It may help to salvage it by adding more flour, but you might be better off turning it into fried doughnuts or pancakes/waffles!
